Color palettes, font pairings, site architecture — all these things and more exist to inspire confidence and curiosity with your audience or customer. We’ll work together to arrive at a design that is as effective as it is attractive.
Bringing your design to life is extra satisfying and means lots of coding and adding animations and interactive elements where necessary to guide the user through your site. This step also includes lots of testing to arrive at a finished website that works beautifully on every screen size.
One of the most overlooked yet important tasks is ensuring your website is optimised for speed, search engines, and mobile devices. The list is long but includes image compression, writing page descriptions and meta tags, custom social sharing images and URL’s, creating a custom 404 page and much much more!
It can sometimes be confronting handing over money to a designer not knowing what you will get back.
Here is a detailed look at my process —
Step 1 — Greetings
The first step is a short questionnaire so I can understand what your needs are. We’ll then setup a face-to-face to talk about your project and hash out the details. Next you’ll receive a quote to sign off on. Once the deposit is paid we can get to work.
Step 2 — Discovery
We’ll kick off our adventure with a discovery process to answer where are you now, and where do you want to go. This involves filling out a brief google doc to collect your ideas, inspiration, copy, and more.
Step 3 — First Pass
With a creative direction set, I will complete a first pass of the visual design for your home page for both desktop and mobile. I’ll present this to you, and we’ll do between 1 and 3 rounds of feedback and changes before arriving on your final look.
Step 4 — Build
Now I’ll get busy bringing your new website to life! This will include building out all of your pages, optimising for mobile, SEO, connecting your social accounts, and setting up any newsletters or other features you plan to utilise.
Step 5 — Launch
After a walkthrough of your finished site, I will teach you how to create new content, make changes and answer all of your questions.
Throughout the whole project you’ll be kept up to date on progress and budget (the hours worked so far), and I’ll always leave you with a website you are super proud of and confident to use.
